The Red Cross has been a part of the Brazos Valley for 101 years, and in just the past five months it has assisted 93 families after their homes burned down. The group has provided assistance to 248 military families, and Red Cross-trained individuals have given CPR to over 1,100 people.

Texas A&M junior defensive specialist Amy Houser was named to the Southeastern Conference volleyball community service team, the SEC announced Wednesday. Houser has logged nearly 75 volunteer hours over the last year, not including a second mission trip with other A&M athletes to help the people of Haiti with service projects such as planting trees, painting houses and providing water filters. 

The Texas A&M volleyball program has added Brett Anema as a volunteer coach. The 6-foot-7 middle blocker played three seasons at Concordia University in Irvine, California, earning AVCA/NAIA All-America honors in 2015, his senior season.
