Appelt Hall, built in 1989, is on the south side of campus and parallel to the east side of Underwood Hall. Appelt Hall is one of two non-corps male-only residence halls the other being Walton Hall on the north side of campus. Appelt houses approximately 300 men in double rooms.

Leslie L. Appelt, class of 1941, was a Houston real estate developer. He served as president of the Association of Former Students in 1971 and as a trustee of Texas A&M University’s Development Foundation for 17 years. The Aggieland Visitor Center in Rudder Tower is also named for Appelt. He died in 2007.
