The 1898 Texas A&M team went 4-2.

H.W. Williams took the reins to the team as A&M resumed the rivalry with Texas. Running backs Hal Moseley and Erwin Astin were the standouts in A&M's season-opening win over Houston High School. Texas throttled the Aggies the following week, 48-0. After Houston High School avenged the earlier loss the next week, the team ran off three straight wins to finish the season with a respectable 4-2 record.
