Tommy Mills

Tommy Mills was an All-SWC quarterback in 1929.

Dana X. Bible left A&M for Nebraska. Matty Bell, who had led TCU to four consecutive winning seasons, was chosen to take over the A&M football program. Running back and captain Tommy Mills scored twice in a season-opening 54-7 win over Southwestern. A&M fell to Tulane the following week. In a 19-0 win over Kansas, Brooks Conover found Mills for a touchdown pass. A&M fell in its next two contests — to TCU and Arkansas — by a combined seven points. The Aggies blew out Stephen F. Austin to move back to .500. Against SMU in a driving thunderstorm, the Aggies' only score came on a Rube Tracy touchdown off a blocked punt. A&M fell, 12-7. After a win against Rice, A&M went into its annual matchup against Texas at 4-4. Mills threw for a touchdown and intercepted four passes, and the Aggies beat the Horns, 13-0. A&M finished the year 5-4, and outscored their opponents 203-62.
