1905 team pic

Prior to the season, J.E. Platt resigned as A&M's coach and athletic director. His legacy: coaching the 1902 team that beat Texas for the first time in school history. W.E. Bachman took over. A&M used a powerful offense and line to get off to a strong start. Captain back Felix Puckett and running back Joe Utay were the standouts as the team got off to a 5-0 start. Victor Kelley scored twice as the Aggies dominated Trinity, winning 23-0 to move to 6-0. The Aggies only gave up 22 points in the first six contests. Against Kentucky, Utay scored to give the team a 6-0 lead (A&M was only the second team to score on Kentucky). But the Moonshiners scored 29 unanswered in an easy victory. A&M cruised to a 17-5 win over Baylor. But as was becoming tradition, UT blew the Aggies out in the season finale 27-0, including Red Hastings' two touchdown runs. A&M finished the year 7-2, outscoring their opponents 180-83.
