July 23, 1917: Royce E. Wisenbaker, class of 1939, was born.

Wisenbaker co-founded an engineering firm in 1947. He served as president of both the Association of Former Students and the 12th Man Foundation. He was also on the Board of Regents from 1979 to 1997.

The Royce E. Wisenbaker Engineering Research Center on the north side of campus is named after him.

He died Sept. 11, 2001.
