Dec. 15, 1982: Former Texas A&M wide receiver Terrence Murphy was born. Murphy played for the Aggies from 2001 to 2004. During his career, he had 172 receptions for 2,600 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Murphy was drafted in the second round (58th overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 2005 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, Murphy injured his neck in a head-to-head collision during a game against the Carolina Panthers. The injury eventually forced him to retire from football.
Dec. 15, 1859: Henry Hill Harrington was born. Harrington was the seventh president of Texas A&M. He served in that position from Sept. 8, 1905, to Aug. 7, 1908. Before becoming president, Harrington served as a professor of chemistry and mineralogy at A&M. He was also the son-in-law of former A&M president and Texas Gov. Lawrence Sullivan Ross.
Dec. 15, 1978: Vernon Smith and Rynn Wright both grabbed 21 rebounds during a game against No. 15 Nevada-Las Vegas. A&M won, 101-99.
Dec. 15, 2017: A&M freshman Chennedy Carter scored a school-record 46 points and led the 19th-ranked Aggies to a 75-74 victory over Southern California. She hit a a jumper in traffic with 9 seconds left.
