May 14, 1994: Reveille V retired after Final Review, and Reveille VI took over as Texas A&M's mascot.

Reveille V made her first appearance at a basketball game on Jan. 11, 1985. It was said that Reveille V was mischievous while in classrooms, stealing erasers from chalkboards.

In October 1993, she underwent stomach surgery to treat gastric dilation-volvulus.

She lived the rest of her life with Joe West, a local veterinarian. He was a member of the class of 1954 and a former senior yell leader. Reveille V was euthanized in June 1999.

Reveille VI had a more adventurous tenure — from a kidnapping by University of Texas students to attending President George W. Bush's inaugural ball.

May 14, 1977: Kimberley Tomes, class of 1977, became the first Aggie and the first Miss Texas to win the Mis USA pageant.

Tomes would represent the U.S. in the Miss Universe pageant, reaching the semifinals.

In 2001, Kandace Krueger became the second Aggie to win Miss Texas and Miss USA.
