Headed for NFL: Texas A&M record-setting senior quarterback Kellen Mond and right offensive guard Jared Hocker both declared for the NFL draft on Thursday rather than return for another season.

Women's basketball team wins: The eighth-ranked Texas A&M women's basketball team rolled to a 77-60 victory over No. 10 Kentucky Thursday night at Reed Arena.

Renamed route: Texas A&M’s Matthew Gaines Society announced this week that the university will rename bus route 36 the “Matthew Gaines” bus route.

New role: Texas A&M recently named Amy Waer its new dean of the College of Medicine. Waer was previously the interim dean and transitioned to her new role Jan. 1.
