STARKVILLE, Miss. — Before every road game, the Texas A&M men’s basketball team takes a picture on the opposing team’s court to memorialize the trip. If the Aggies win the game, that picture gets hung on the “culture wall” inside A&M’s basketball facilities.

Timeouts have become a form of triage for the Texas A&M men’s basketball team this season. It is especially evident when head coach Buzz Williams has to burn one of his timeouts that become one of the four elongated media timeouts in each half.

The Texas A&M men’s and women’s basketball teams will each host a Beat The Hell Outta Breast Cancer Game at Reed Arena this season. The Aggie men’s will be against LSU on Jan. 26, while the women’s will be Feb. 18 against Missouri.

On any normal game day, Texas A&M head coach Buzz William seldom checks his phone. His typically low social media digest is relegated to obscurity in preparation for the upcoming game. 

In the vernacular head coach Buzz Williams has installed in the Texas A&M men’s basketball program, getting an opponent into “fire” means forcing it to take a shot in the last 10 seconds of the shot clock.

Texas A&M head men’s basketball coach Buzz Williams took time during a Zoom press conference to hold up a spreadsheet that tracked all of the Aggies’ “whiteboard stats” from their 78-54 loss at South Carolina on Wednesday.

Multiple issues popped up for the Texas A&M men’s basketball team during nonconference play, most of them spawning from turnovers. When the Aggies conceded a lackluster 73-55 loss to TCU that included a season-high 20 turnovers in early December, head coach Buzz Williams likened it to a needle puncturing the expanding bubble.
